The La Liga team is holding off to see what will happen to Llorente and if they will be in a position to “fight” for his transfer during the summer transfer window.

The reasons why Leeds United should permit Diego Llorente to depart this summer
Not many people in West Yorkshire would be upset if Llorente were to completely go, even though Leeds itself needs defensive reinforcement.

The Spanish international has been at Roma on loan in Italy for the past 18 months, but their interest in acquiring the former Real Madrid prospect has since waned [The Mirror, June 19, page 47].

Although there are several teams vying for the Welshman’s signature, Llorente’s exit may aid the West Yorkshire team in raising money for a possible deal to bring Joe Rodon back to Elland Road this summer.

The Whites’ inability to get promoted back to the Premier League may also mean that they will have to make some sales this summer.

Marc Roca’s transfer to Real Betis might also be advantageous for the team [Betis BeSoccer, June 25]. If he were to make a permanent departure from Elland Road, few Leeds supporters would weep for him.
