In their pursuit of acquiring a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window, Nottingham Forest has made progress.

Carlos Miguel, a stopper for Corinthians, looks like he could soon be joining Forest at the City Ground.

When he eventually checks in, the 6′ 7″ athlete will become the tallest player in the Premier League because he appears to be very uncompromising.

Miguel reportedly underwent a physical with the Reds earlier this week, and it was now reported that he will be joining Forest.

Miguel looks to offer some competition, but Forest also has Matz Sels as a goalkeeping alternative.

There seems to be a new development regarding Miguel and Forest’s agreement.

It would appear as though the 25-year-old has now burned his bridges with Corinthians.

It was reported earlier this week that manager Antonio Oliveira had chastised the goalkeeper and expelled him from the training area.

Miguel has now denied the rumors that he faked an ankle ailment to avoid playing, according to El Globo.

It appears that he thought the charge was excessively severe because he was genuinely unable to work due to an injury.

There have been claims that he was ready to play if fit, but that the talks with Forest were still very far along.

confined to a forest Miguel feels that Corinthians has been trying to harm his reputation, which has left him angry and taken aback.

Miguel will compete with others for the top slot at Forest.
Sels was a very useful singer who the Reds signed for £5 million from Strasbourg in January.

It’s reasonable to argue that Forest might not have come thus close to relegation the previous season if he had joined the team earlier.

Miguel therefore cannot visit Forest and expect to pick up the gloves right away.

After giving both goalkeepers a close examination during the preseason, Nuno Espirito Santo will probably select one to start the opening game at home against Bournemouth.

At just £3.4 million, Miguel does appear to be a wise addition, and he will be optimistic about his chances of starting goalkeeping for Forest the following campaign.
