John Kennedy was in the media to update the fans on the Celtics’ summer signing status as the players headed back to Lennoxtown for preseason training.

The Celtic assistant manager realized that with Joe Hart’s retirement, the team would need to acquire a new goalkeeper.

Despite acknowledging that “targets have been identified,” the club has not yet made any announcements regarding new additions.

Thus far. Kennedy provided a vague timescale for fans to expect news during a press conference in Lennoxtown, implying that fresh additions would be revealed shortly.

At Celtic, “a lot of conversations” are taking place.
Even though the fans might be growing anxious due to the lack of signings, the Hoops assistant seems composed and at ease.

In response to a question concerning the potential signings of Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah, Kennedy made a suggestion that “a few things” may occur in “the coming weeks.”

Kennedy stated, “I think there’s a lot of conversations happening,” to Sky Sports Scotland. Several players have been on vacation at this time, and other things have been going on.

“Many discussions have been having place. We return for the preseason, and maybe, over the next two weeks, some things will begin to happen, but there are a lot of moving parts and a lot of work to be done.

“Hopefully, in the upcoming weeks, that will begin to materialize.”

There doesn’t seem to be much movement in replacing Hart, with discussions of Dominik Livakovic being discredited by the Croatian PR manager and Caoimhin Kelleher now becoming too costly for Celtic.

The Celtics were seen arriving back in Lennoxtown this morning. Since Scott Bain and Benjamin Siegrist are the only recognized goalkeepers on the team, the fans will not be pleased with either of them opening the season given how little playing time they both saw last year.

We’ll cross our fingers and hope that Celtic makes the crucial additions to all critical positions in order to facilitate a seamless transition to the next campaign.
