Crystal Palace enjoyed a resurgence during the second half of last season with Oliver Glasner getting the best out of the club’s attacking stars.
The London outfit climbed to 10th in the Premier League table under the Austrian and ended the campaign as one of the most in-form teams in the division.
However, Crystal Palace‘s success also drew attention to their biggest stars with Europe’s elite particularly paying attention to Michael Olise.
HITC understands that Olise has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich with the Bundesliga giants set to pay a fee in the region of £50million for his signature.
He will be a big miss for Crystal Palace, but they have already identified two potential replacements for him in the Championship.
Eberechi Eze responds to Michael Olise transfer
Olise was the star of Palace’s season but he was matched stride for stride by Eberechi Eze, who received a call-up to England’s Euro 2024 squad as a result.
While away on international duty, Eze was asked about Olise’s move and he was full of praise for his Palace teammate.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Eze said: “He is an incredible player. I enjoyed playing with him for the two or three seasons now.
“He is a top, top player, a top talent with a top mentality. He has got everything it takes to get to the top and play at the highest level of football.”
Eberechi Eze to step up next season
With Olise set to depart Selhurst Park, more responsibility will fall on Eze’s shoulders.
He was superb for Palace last season with 11 goals and six assists across all competitions – he was one of many who thrived under Glasner and expectations are even bigger next season.
Eze has only featured once for England at Euro 2024 so far but the experience of being at an international tournament should elevate him to a new level with his confidence at an all-time high.
