With a personal terms agreement reached for our third summer signing, West Ham United seems to have decided who will be the next player to join at the London Stadium.

This summer, Julen Lopetegui has already added two new players to West Ham: veteran goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and teenage Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.

The Hammers boss is keen to bring in six top quality new signings this summer, so his work is clearly far from finished.

I personally think the Spaniard needs to bring in even more new arrivals than that, if he’s to oversee some genuine progress at the London Stadium.

West Ham need to sign a centre-back, a striker, a defensive midfielder, a left winger and probably a couple of full-backs as well, depending on potential outgoings.

It has certainly been a decent start to the summer transfer window for West Ham, but Lopetegui really needs to kick his business into gear now, with our pre-season campaign set to start in around three week’s time.

Another new signing could be on route to the Hammers imminently, but one final detail needs to be addressed it seems…

West Ham and the third summer signing agree on personal terms.
Tim Stiedten and Lopetegui are working nonstop to prepare the Hammers team for the next Premier League campaign.

The Hammers manager has to sign at least four or five more elite players if he wants to compete on all fronts next season.

Additionally, it appears that a trade involving a specific player is almost finalized, but there is a serious issue.

West Ham and Jota Silva, a winger for Vitoria de Guimaraes, have reportedly reached a personal terms agreement, according to a report from Fanatik.

However, the Portuguese outfit’s £17 million asking price for the 24-year-old is proving to be a potential sticking point for the Hammers.

It was actually claimed yesterday that West Ham had pulled out of the race to sign the right-footed left winger.

However, that doesn’t appear to be the case at all. I think Silva is someone who we should be going all out to sign this summer – he’s absolutely perfect for us.

Silva possesses pace in abundance, a wicked shot, exceptional technical ability and is an extremely hard worker.

The attacker was in fine form out in Portugal last season, with 15 goals and seven assists to his name for Vitoria de Guimaraes.

And if West Ham can agree a fee with Vitoria de Guimaraes, it seems like Jota Silva will become Lopetegui’s third summer signing.
