Leeds United is getting close to completing their second summertime permanent sale.

Jack Harrison returned to Everton on loan earlier this week; on Friday, Marc Roca became the first player to depart on a permanent basis.

Similar to Harrison, Roca returned to Real Betis, where he was previously on loan, after the club reportedly paid £4.25 million to recruit him.

After Leeds lost to Southampton in the play-off final, neither of those two departures will have surprised any Leeds fans, with more attention undoubtedly being paid to the players from the previous season who may be leaving.

Many well-known players, such as Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, and Illan Meslier, have been connected to exits; player sales are required at Elland Road.

Charlie Cresswell is closer to leaving Leeds for £3.8m
Leeds is expected back at Elland Road for pre-season play next week, so it seems like things are moving more quickly behind the scenes there.

Jamie Shackleton is close to finalizing a deal with another team, but Leeds won’t be getting paid for him because his contract expires tomorrow.

Furthermore, Alan Nixon has reported that Charlie Cresswell is nearing a move, meaning that another member of Daniel Farke’s first team squad from the previous season is expected to go.

The 21-year-old is reportedly close to finalizing a deal to Toulouse, with the Ligue 1 team willing to pay an estimated £3.8 million to entice him across Europe.

According to reports, Cresswell is eager to try his luck overseas because many English youth have had success there recently.

Cresswell signed a long-term contract with Leeds about a year ago, although he hardly played in the previous campaign, making only one league start, against Birmingham City.

The Cresswell motion works for everyone.
This is a contract that works for everyone, even though it would have been wonderful for Leeds to get a sum that was closer to £5 million.

At the age of 21, “brilliant” Cresswell is desperate to play regularly and could not have afforded to spend another season on the bench.

Given that Cresswell is a product of the academy and that the transfer will bring PSR only profit, this is also good news for Leeds.

They are in severe need of center backs, though, since Cooper looks certain to go on a free agent and Rodon’s return is doubtful.
