It has been a frantic few days as some clubs scramble to meet the PSR-enforced deadline to raise funds through player sales. Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are in the same boat in that regard, as there could be a potential deal between the two sides before today’s deadline.
The report states that Newcastle are keen on recruiting Anthony Elanga and could make a stern enquiry for the 22-year-old attacker. Nottingham Forest, who are closing in on Elliot Anderson from the Magpies, could entertain the idea of letting the Swedish winger join them in a separate deal.
The idea might prove beneficial for all parties concerned, but it will also depend on Elanga’s wish on whether he would seek a new challenge. The 22-year-old attacker only joined Forest last summer from Manchester United and proved pivotal for Nuno Espirito Santo’s quest to survive relegation.
The two clubs might also have had discussions in the background over the last few days as part of the Anderson deal about Elanga. However, there is still no clarity on the money Forest might seek from the sale, as they did pay a fair price for him to Manchester United.

They may also have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sell exciting attacker Yankuba Minteh in a deal that could land them about £30 million or more. Hence, with these departures, Newcastle United may have found a method to evade the need to sell their top-name players and continue their efforts to keep them instead.
