Following Charlie Cresswell’s apparent departure from Leeds United for Toulouse at Elland Road, it is now believed that Leeds United will lose another young youngster during the summer transfer window.

News about transfers from Leeds
Of course, until they supposedly rejected Brentford’s offering, it appeared as though Leeds were set to deal Archie Gray their heaviest blow of the summer. The youthful talent might now join Tottenham, but he already has a medical scheduled at Brentford.

However, that cannot be true for Cresswell, who is rumored to be scheduled for a medical at Toulouse next week in order to finalize a £3.8 million transfer this summer. The central defender, who had a difficult time playing last season, is probably leaving the team with another promising talent.

Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider reports that Darko Gyabi will join Plymouth Argyle on loan from Leeds for the upcoming campaign. The youthful central midfielder, who played for the Pilgrims on loan for a portion of the last campaign, is about to return to the Championship team, where he will be managed by new boss Wayne Rooney.

As Gyabi obtains valuable playing time in the Championship next season, Daniel Farke might be hoping to welcome back a player prepared to take the field for his first team. It will be a crucial year for the 20-year-old because his contract is also scheduled to expire in 2026. This could lead to a career crossroads.

“Excellent” Gyabi must go back to Plymouth.
Gyabi would be well advised to return to Plymouth on loan, as minutes at Elland Road are far from assured. The youthful midfielder will get the chance to play every week while gaining knowledge from one of England’s all-time greats, Rooney. It won’t hurt the 20-year-old to make an impression on Championship teams if his ultimate goal is to leave Leeds permanently in 2026.

Gyabi earned plenty of praise during last season’s loan spell, with former Plymouth manager Ian Foster saying via The Yorkshire Evening Post whilst also praising Ashley Phillips: “They were excellent, both of them. They fit in the group incredibly well and that’s credit to the other boys.

“We’ve welcomed them. I don’t look at birth certificates when I pick teams. They’re both teenagers coming into what is a very, very difficult game and I thought they both handled it really, really well. Ashley was solid throughout the game. I thought his in-possession game was good, and we’ve seen with Darko what he’s capable of. He’s full of energy. He wants to get on the ball, play forward and break lines.”

Now seemingly set to become the next player to leave Elland Road this summer, Gyabi may hope to instantly find the form he first showed at Plymouth last season.
