Elliott Anderson, a midfielder for Newcastle United who joined the team at the age of eight, has signed a five-year contract with Nottingham Forest, guaranteeing his stay at the club through the summer of 2029. Anderson, who joined Newcastle at the age of eight, made 55 appearances for the Magpies, 44 of which were in the Premier League. “I’m buzzing. I think it’s a massive club with big history and I can’t wait to get started,” Anderson said. “It’s a great place to display what I can do and go onto try and help my career.”
In January 2021, Anderson made his Newcastle Premier League debut against Arsenal. He helped Bristol Rovers achieve promotion from Sky Bet League Two with eight goals and five assists in 21 games during his first loan stint there.
He made his Champions League debut against AC Milan in 2023–24 after making 27 first-team appearances for Newcastle United in 2022–23 and 26 in 2023–24.
Ross Wilson, Chief Football Officer, stated his pleasure on the deal. “We are all delighted to welcome Elliot to Nottingham Forest and pleased that he has chosen to continue to develop his talent with us in the Premier League,” Wilson stated.
“We are sure he will thrive in a Forest shirt, as other players in his age profile have done.”
About his upcoming chapter at Nottingham Forest, Anderson is ecstatic. It’s a fantastic chance. Since it’s a new beginning, I want to go all out and prove to everyone how capable I am,” he declared.
“I’ve always been very fond of Nottingham Forest and I think it’s a great place to display what I can do.”
Reflecting on his previous experience at The City Ground, Anderson noted, “It was brilliant. I was speaking to my parents after the game and my Dad said that it’s probably one of the best grounds he’s been to in terms of atmosphere. I came on in the game and it felt great to play here.”
Describing himself as an attacking threat, Anderson said, “I’m an attacking threat who likes to create goals. I haven’t got too many yet, but I can see myself getting many for Forest. I just like to create chances.”
Looking ahead, Anderson is eager to contribute to the team’s success. “Personally, I want to go out there and do as well as I can and help the team. For the team, I just want to finish as high as possible and get up that table.”
