Rangers will have to pay a premium transfer fee if they are to secure the services of FC Twente defender Mees Hilgers this summer, according to Rangers Review.

The news outlet reported on 30 June that as the 23-year-old signed a contract extension at the Dutch club last year until 2026, any deal to sign him is not going to be cheap.

Thus far, Gers have made five new signings this summer and Hamza Igamane is expected to arrive imminently.

Rangers must look to explore Mees Hilgers transfer

Gers should explore the potential transfer of Hilgers due to his impressive performances and the qualities he could bring to the team.

The 23-year-old defender has shown great promise in the Eredivisie, playing a crucial role in FC Twente’s success last season.

His technical ability, defensive skills and leadership qualities make him an attractive prospect for Philippe Clement.

Securing the 23-year-old signature would provide Gers with a solid defensive option, strengthening their backline and adding depth to the squad.

His presence could help improve the team’s defensive record and provide stability in crucial matches.
Clement does want experienced new signings and while Hilgers is in his early 20s, he does have the pre-requisite experience to thrive at Ibrox.
