Euro 2024 has now gone beyond the last 16 – next up, we’ll be watching the quarter finals of the competition. England are gearing up to face Switzerland on Saturday, July 6 – but before then, let’s take a look at all the biggest rumours from around West Bromwich Albion and the Championship as a whole.

A West Brom defender, who spent the season away from The Hawthorns on loan, is ‘poised’ for a permanent transfer move that will see him make the jump to the Scottish Premiership.

Meanwhile, a now-former Birmingham City defender is set to join one of the Blues’ League One rivals ahead of next season, after his contract at St. Andrew’s came to an end.

West Bromwich Albion’s Ethan Ingram ‘poised’ for transfer move to Dundee

West Brom academy product Ethan Ingram looks ‘poised’ to leave the club – he is reportedly the subject of interest from Dundee in the Scottish Premiership. After he reportedly turned down the offer of a new deal with the Baggies, he will make the jump to Scotland ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Ingram will leave West Brom having never made a senior appearance in the league for the club. He joined their academy back in 2015 – he has also featured on a number of occasions for England’s youth teams.

Last season, Ingram played for Salford City in League Two on loan. The Ammies had expressed an interest in signing him on a permanent basis, but it appears that his head has been turned by the Dark Blues.

In a post featured on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, Marsh wrote: “Ethan Ingram poised to join Dundee. Former England U20 international had suitors elsewhere but now closing in on a move to the Scottish Premiership after turning down new WBA deal.”

Birmingham City’s Marc Roberts re-joins Barnsley in League One

Marc Roberts has re-signed for Barnsley on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Birmingham City. This is not his first time in South Yorkshire – not only was the 33-year-old born in Barnsley, he also played for the Tykes between the years of 2015 and 2017, making 72 league appearances and scoring five goals along the way.

This follows a seven-year stint with the Blues, who suffered relegation to League One at the end of the 2023/24 season. During his time at St. Andrews, Roberts played in 186 Championship games and scored seven goals. Now aged 33, his best years may be behind him – but a return to his old stomping grounds could be an ideal move for him.

In an interview featured on Barnsley’s official club website, Sporting Director Mladen Sormaz said: “We are extremely pleased to bring Marc back to Oakwell. We felt that a player of Marc’s calibre and experience was too good to not bring to Barnsley, with over 200 Championship appearances and a promotion from this division on his CV.

“Marc knows what it takes to have success at Oakwell, and we look forward to bringing his qualities into the changing room working with our coaching staff.”
