Michael Golding, a midfielder for Chelsea, is poised to sign for Leicester City soon; an announcement is anticipated later on Thursday, sources told Football Insider.

After the midfielder completed the transfer paperwork at Leicester’s training facility, the clubs have finally come to a complete understanding over the terms of the agreement.

On June 30, Football Insider exclusively disclosed that, following a breakthrough in negotiations, Leicester and Chelsea have agreed on a £4 million deal for Golding.

Golding, who came through the Stamford Bridge system six years ago, has signed a four-year contract with the Foxes.

Michael Golding, a Chelsea star, will finish his transfer to Leicester City today.
The midfield player has only made one senior appearance, coming on as a substitute in January’s 4-0 FA Cup triumph over Preston North End for the Blues.

Just three days later, he was named on the bench as Chelsea fell to Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup as Mauricio Pochettino handed him experience with the first team.

Golding’s other senior football engagement was during Chelsea’s under-21 team’s match against Northampton in the EFL Trophy, where he scored and provided an assist in a 2-2 tie.

When Golding’s availability was announced, Leicester was eager to take advantage of his performances for Chelsea’s academy teams, despite the fact that he had many fans at Stamford Bridge.

He has also represented England between under-15s and under-18s level, and is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland after appearing for their under-16 side.

After the Foxes lost Enzo Maresca and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to their Premier League opponents, Chelsea and Leicester will now trade for the third time this summer.
