Following Steve Cooper’s appointment as manager, Leicester City are reportedly close to signing Bobby De Cordova-Reid as they step up their transfer business. The Jamaican international attacker, who was persuaded to move to the King Power Stadium rather than accept a contract extension at Fulham, will reportedly have a medical at City within the next 24 hours, according to the Telegraph. This means that City now have four potential signings that could be announced in the coming days.

Sporting Lisbon’s £14 million permanent transfer of Abdul Fatawu is expected to be finalized, and City has also reached an agreement with Chelsea to acquire young midfielder Michael Golding for £5 million. It was widely reported in Italy on Thursday that Caleb Okoli, an Atalanta center defender, would be joining for approximately £13 million.

De Cordova-Reid would bring Premier League experience to the squad after his five years at Craven Cottage, three of which were in the top flight. The versatile 31-year-old, who can play out wide, in attacking midfield or up front, scored six goals and set up two more in 33 Premier League appearances last season, albeit he was only in the starting 11 on 17 occasions.

If De Cordova-Reid does join, it may be that he doesn’t link up with Cooper’s squad straight away as he’s only just returned from Copa America. He played two of Jamaica’s three group-stage matches as they lost to Mexico, Ecuador and Venezuela.

City return to pre-season training on Monday with Cooper able to get hands-on with his squad for the first time. After a week at Seagrave, the squad will then head to Lake Geneva for a training camp.
