Leeds United appear to be closing in on announcing another departure in the early stages of the summer transfer window, with BBC journalist Adam Pope sharing that one 23-year-old’s move is expected to be confirmed.
Leeds have already seen the likes of Archie Gray and Jack Harrison depart so far in this window, while Daniel Farke has been able to welcome Joe Rodon back into the fold after his permanent move from Tottenham.
Obviously, missing out on promotion has probably changed a number of plans, but some of those on the fringes of the squad are still moving on, with Kristoffer Klaesson looking like the next to head elsewhere.
Klaesson has spent most of his time at Leeds as an understudy to Illan Meslier, making just four appearances for the first-team. The Norwegian was never the most convincing presence for the under-21s, but actually surpassed expectations when he was needed in the senior side.

He did brilliantly when he came on against Wolves in the Premier League, while he kept clean sheets against Birmingham and Peterborough United last season. Unsurprisingly, Farke praised Klaesson as he filled in for Meslier.
But it seems that the 2-2 draw with Watford in March will prove to be his final appearance for Leeds, with Adam Pope revealing on X that the youngster is close to moving to Poland in a permanent deal…
Move may provide small hint on Illan Meslier’s future
It will be interesting to see if the decision on Klaesson offers any indication concerning what the future holds for Meslier. Marseille are interested in Meslier, who has never quite managed to convince supporters fully after an amazing start to his Leeds career.
Had Meslier left, you could definitely see a world where Karl Darlow stepped up to be number one while Klaesson moves into the backup role.
However, Klaesson’s move obviously puts paid to that idea. Dani van den Heuvel was released earlier in the summer, so Leeds will surely look to sign at least one goalkeeper in this window.
Perhaps Klaesson’s departure increases the likelihood of Meslier staying put.
