Atalanta defender Caleb Okoli is undergoing a medical on Saturday at Leicester City after agreeing terms, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old will join the Premier League outfit imminently should his medical go to plan this weekend.
The defender first joined Atalanta in 2020 but has spent most of his time out on loan, but he has played 17 times for the club.
Leicester City will boost their defensive options
The former Premier League champions are looking to bolster their defensive options ahead of their return to the top flight for the forthcoming season.
Even though Okoli has struggled to secure a regular first-team place with Atalanta, he brings plenty of experience for a young player.
The defender has made 180 appearances throughout his career, spanning various leagues including the Serie A, B, and Primavera 1.
He heads to Leicester City with plenty of momentum after being a regular at Frosinone Calcio on loan last season, featuring in 37 games.
Okoli would be the latest signing for Steve Cooper’s side, as the Foxes signed Bobby De Cordova-Reid this weekend.
However, there have been outgoings at the King Power Stadium as well, with Kiernan Dewsbury Hall having joined Chelsea in this window.
