Rangers are expected to go in for another striker should Cyriel Dessers exit Ibrox this summer, according to Chris Jack.
The journalist shared on Rangers Review [6 July] that numerous clubs are in the running for the Nigerian striker this summer.
Clubs from places such as Saudi Arabia, France and PAOK are all vying to sign Dessers, with a potential fee of £4.5million not to be sniffed at.
Why Rangers should let Cyriel Dessers leave this summer
It’s evident that Dessers no longer wants to be a Gers player, especially since he handed in a transfer request [Soccernet, 25 June] just over a week ago.
The Glasgow outfit have already welcomed one number nine to their squad in Hamza Igamane but at just 21 years old, the Moroccan can’t be solely relied upon.
The striker was fairly prolific whilst playing in his home country as he managed to score a total of 16 goals in the Botola Pro 1 League and Clement will certainly be hoping that he can replicate his form in Scotland.
Although Dessers was one of Clement’s top scorers last term, his form was fairly inconsistent across the term resulting in anger from the fans.
It’s evident that change is needed at Ibrox, especially if Rangers want to dethrone their arch-rivals Celtic.
The likes of Albion Rrahmani have been touted with a move to Glasgow over the summer [Daily Record, 28 June] and there’s no doubt that any fee received from the Nigeria international would go a long way to securing his move this summer.
