According to AfricaFoot, Rangers will need to fulfill Adama Traore’s £3.5 million release clause in order to beat Fenerbahce to his contract.

As to the news outlet’s article on July 7, the Light Blues have been in “advanced talks” [AfricaFoot, 26 May] for the Mali winger; nevertheless, they are currently up against fierce competition from Jose Mourinho’s team.

The 29-year-old has a release clause in his contract, and Ferencvaros is eager to sell to the best bidder, so Philippe Clement might have to approve covering the full amount. This information has suddenly surfaced.

Rangers have already confirmed six players as new members of the squad, but they still need attacking options at Ibrox for 2024–2025 Clement. Rangers have been incredibly busy in the transfer market thus far.

Despite the signings of Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, Liam Kelly, Oscar Cortes, and Hamza Igamane, the team is far from ready for the season to begin next month.

Attack is an area that is particularly in need of expansion, given the uncertain future of Cyriel Dessers [Chris Jack, 3 July], the likelihood of Sam Lammers leaving, and the serious doubts surrounding Todd Cantwell [The Sun, 20 June], Scott Wright, and Tom Lawrence.

Traore would provide the team experience, and since he has experience winning championships, he might be the kind of addition needed to assist a rookie team advance in a race.

But Rangers will need to act fast to avoid losing out on another target this summer, as Mourinho is now very much in the running for his signing.
