Celtic have been tipped to complete a move for Wilfred Ndidi thanks to Brendan Rodgers’ influence after their time at Leicester.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic forward Frank McAvennie insisted Ndidi would be a “great” addition to the Hoops, insisting he’s “exactly” what the club needs.
The 27-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving the Foxes and McAvennie has insisted the boss could be vital in convincing him to move north of the border.
Everton also have a strong interest in Ndidi, sources have told Football Insider, and have held preliminary talks with his camp over a deal.
It was suggested the allure of winning further silverware could tempt him to Parkhead, having previously lifted the FA Cup during his time at Leicester under Rodgers.

The Glasgow giants have been targeting a defensive midfielder to solidify their side and add quality ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign.
Ndidi’s experience in the Premier League was listed as a crucial factor in Celtic’s interest, with the Nigerian racking up 192 appearances in the English top flight.
“He’s exactly what I’ve been shouting for,” he told Football Insider.
“I remember him playing in the Premier League and he didn’t let himself down. He was impressive and usually one of the highlights when he played down there.
“He’s not that old, either, is he? I think he’d be great. Somebody with that kind of experience.
“I’m quite optimistic that Brendan could get him. It would be great.
“Other teams will want him as well. That’s my biggest fear. He’s one of the ones you need to get to before anybody else can.
“I’d love Brendan to get him. He can win some medals, he’ll be playing in Europe and hopefully that could sway his decision.
“Everybody wants to win medals at the end of their career.
“It’s great that the club are going for players with Premier League quality.
