Kyriakos Dourekas, a board member of Nottingham Forest, has resigned.
Dourekas began his tenure with the team five years ago as the director of football. In March 2022, he was named to the board of directors.
Dourekas declared: “I am immensely thankful to Mr. Evangelos Marinakis and Mr. Miltiadis Marinakis for their support and belief in me throughout my time at both Olympiacos FC and Nottingham Forest. I have had five amazing years with Nottingham Forest.”
“After 23 difficult years apart, we finally realized our dream of rejoining the Premier League. This achievement was made possible by the devoted players, coaches, technical staff, and administrative staff who have supported us throughout the years.
“Most importantly, we owe this success to our extraordinary fans, who welcomed my family and I to Nottingham. I am deeply thankful for their unwavering support.
“While moving on to new challenges, I will always cherish my time at Nottingham Forest and forever hold a special place in my heart for Olympiacos FC.”
Forest said of Dourekas in a statement: “Since 2018, he has expertly delivered significant improvements in many areas such as the first team, academy, stadium and training ground operations, recruitment, and more. We would like to thank Kyriakos for his immense contributions to Nottingham Forest and wish him the very best for his future endeavours.”
