West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday are in the picture to sign Mickaël Nadé this summer, according to a report from France.
The 24-year-old is a product of Saint-Étienne’s youth system and has been with their first team since 2017. His future needs to be clarified as his contract with the club expired on June 30th.
Saint-Étienne want to extend the defender’s contract, and have offered a new deal. That’s according to L’Equipe, who say they will face a battle from West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday as the two clubs are in the picture to secure the defender’s services.
Last season, the centre-back made 28 appearances for the French club, who secured promotion back to Ligue 1.
Nadé being a free agent has caught the attention of other clubs, ‘in particular’ from the Championship, where the Baggies and Sheffield Wednesday are keen.
The two English clubs appreciate the profile of the ‘very solid central defender’, and they can sign him for free if decides to reject the renewal offer.
The player now has to make a decision on whether to sign a new deal at Saint-Étienne or make a switch to the Championship.
