Leeds United are set to sell Glen Kamara this week with the midfielder to undergo a medical at Rennes on Tuesday.

The Whites’ transfer window so far has largely been dominated by outgoings from the club, and it’s due to leave the midfield short ahead of the first friendlies this week.

Archie Gray is set to be followed out of Elland Road by Glen Kamara this week, as a transfer abroad looks to be about to materialise.

Glen Kamara medical imminent at Rennes as Leeds sale nears

An agreement was reached over the weekend for Kamara to leave the club after a year at Elland Road, moving to Rennes in Ligue 1.

Fabrizio Roman has relayed these reports now with an update that the £8.6million deal is going to the final stages now, as a medical is booked for Tuesday:

All parties have agreed to the deal with Kamara happy to exit the club and move to France, leaving Leeds with a PSR profit potentially up to £5million.

Sources indicated to LeedsAllOver, as reported on Friday evening, that the club don’t see new signing Joe Rothwell as Kamara’s replacement, meaning the Finn’s departure will spark the club into action to source a new midfielder.

Kamara sale makes sense with shrewd profit made on 28-year-old

When Leeds signed Kamara for £5million, it looked like a deal that we wouldn’t have a great deal of resale value on, but that hasn’t been the case.

A decent profit on him does set us up to find a very good replacement for him in the coming weeks before the season starts.

It would be safe to assume that him leaving the club would trigger us to get to work in finding a new signing to replace him.
