With as much financial power as any club in world football, Newcastle hasn’t made many major transfers; their biggest signings have been midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and strikers Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

But here’s the thing: in their first season under the new ownership group, Newcastle qualified for the 2023–24 Champions League by making wise spending decisions that paid off handsomely.

However, Newcastle took a step back this season as they were eliminated in the Champions League group stages and could only finish seventh in the Premier League.

Newcastle has to make a few major moves in the summer transfer window of 2024. Having already expressed interest in Bundesliga breakout sensation Xavi Simons, the Magpies are now connected to a player who is probably more well-known in the German top division.

The Bavarian giants are considering selling three excellent wingers, including Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane. According to a report from The Mirror, Newcastle is considering investing 40 million pounds to sign Serge Gnabry, a top player for Bayern Munich.

Before agreeing to a contract extension with Bayern, Gnabry was being tracked by Real Madrid as recently as the summer 2022 transfer window. Despite this, he has continued to be under fire from the media due to his patchy play and failure to live up to his extraordinary skill.

At 29, Gnabry is still theoretically in the prime of his career and was a star in the 2019–20 season when Bayern Munich won the treble. He can play anywhere in the front line.

Gnabry might be worth it if Newcastle can actually pull off a transfer for less than 40 million pounds. Additionally, based on the terms of the transfer between Bayern and Manchester United, Die Roten might be willing to let a transfer deal fall through, particularly if they are having trouble finding buyers for all three of their marketable wingers.

Gordon, the top left winger in the Premier League, can alternate with Gnabry on the left side of the attack or take Miguel Almiron’s place on the right.

The former Premier League product at Arsenal might wake up and resume his Champions League supremacy with a transfer that ignites a fire under him psychologically, even though Gnabry is not without risk given his history of injuries and wage cost.
