Philippe Clement has not ruled out the sale of any Rangers player this summer provided the money on offer is acceptable.

Rangers are undergoing a major transitional period under their Belgian boss after they were pipped to the league title by arch-rivals Celtic last season.

A handful of first-team players have already departed Ibrox following the expiration of their contract including Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram and Borna Barisic.

Goalkeeper Robby McCrorie was ‘desperate’ to leave Rangers this summer according to Philippe Clement, and more exits are expected before the end of the transfer window.

Clement responded to more questions about his squad as Rangers flew home from their Dutch training camp, and he believes only Jack Butland is “irreplaceable” in his squad.

However, he still named an acceptable price tag for his shot-stopper.

Rangers would accept club-record fee for Jack Butland

Butland was a standout performer for Rangers last season and with McCrorie and Kieran Wright both leaving this summer his importance in the squad has only grown.

Speaking to the media, Clement said “I think there is only one player that is irreplaceable at the moment that I don’t think a team will pay the money that he is worth, for sure, and that is Jack Butland.

“If somebody comes with £30million or £40million you can replace him for that money. Every player falls into that category. We need money to replace him. If it is a good amount you can replace him and do something else. We will see.”

The record fee received for a player by Rangers was the £20million paid by Ajax for Calvin Bassey in 2022.

Selling Butland would leave a gaping hole in Clement’s squad but a £30-£40million injection would allow the club to improve multiple positions this summer.

It would be a huge risk to allow the 31-year-old to leave but if a suitable offer arrives this summer then it would be extremely hard to turn down.
