The Deniz Undav problem is still ongoing, and if anything, it’s becoming more intricate with each passing day.
The previous season, Brighton & Hove Albion loaned the player to VfB Stuttgart. The 27-year-old’s loan team finished second in the Bundesliga after he scored an amazing 18 goals for them.
Of course, that also means playing football in the Champions League and earning the associated salary. Undav’s stay in Stuttgart and Brighton does not appear to be any closer to being agreed upon.
A portion of it stems from the uncertainty surrounding Serhou Guirassy’s future. Everything fell apart just as a move to Borussia Dortmund was about to happen due to an injury discovered during the medical examination.
Bild report Stuttgart does not like to have three forwards paying top dollar. They have signed Ermedin Demirovic, retained Guirassy, and plan to add Undav; together, they make at least €3 million annually.
The resolution of Guirassy’s medical issue and his departure are consequently crucial.
Additionally, Bild reports that Brighton is exhibiting “rather stubbornness” in the course of negotiations regarding the transfer cost.
It’s possible that the Premier League team is growing weary of having to watch VfB Stuttgart’s internal issues. Perhaps the Bundesliga team should consider whether they can actually sign Undaz before becoming irritated with Brighton’s alleged lack of collaboration.
