Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen is set to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan, according to Tipsbladet.

Kristensen spent last season on loan with Roma and it is reported (16 July) that he’ll be heading over to Germany for his next career stint.

It is suggested that rumours of a return to Denmark with FC Midtjylland have also been shut down, coming too soon for that to potentially happen for the “Powerhouse”.

Leeds United’s long-term Rasmus Kristensen hope

It’s easy to be dismissive of Kristensen who didn’t make too many waves during the last campaign. He was only involved in two goals in 29 appearances for Roma from wing-back (FBref), leaving many to wonder what his future would look like upon returning to Yorkshire.

Still, if this is to be believed, Leeds aren’t giving up on the defender just yet, although Jayden Bogle could be a direct replacement already [The Star].

His deal is set to last until 2027 and although Frankfurt are planning on committing to a loan, perhaps the hope is that he’ll rediscover his form that first put him in the spotlight at Elland Road.

Leeds are already dealing with heavy interest in a lot of their star players this summer. So, if someone like Kristensen can make an impact overseas, it’s easy to see how that would be a win-win situation for the club.

After a top-six Bundesliga finish for Frankfurt last season, the expectations will be high – and he’ll have a real battle on his hands if he wants a place in the starting XI.
