Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have approached Chelsea for the services of their attacking prospect Noni Madueke.

According to a report from Football Insider, Newcastle United are looking to reinforce their attack before the start of the 2024/25 season, and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke is one of the names on their wishlist. Eddie Howe wants more quality on the flanks, and he feels the former English youth international could be an ideal fit for their team.

Madueke left Tottenham’s youth setup to join PSV Eindhoven back in 2018. He went up their ranks and made a name for himself before making a £29 million move to Chelsea in the winter of 2023. The 22-year-old has done a decent job for the Blues’ first team over the last 18 months.

Last season, the right winger scored eight goals and bagged another three assists in his 34 outings. But, he could only rack up over 1,500 minutes of first-team football. Madueke still has six years left on his deal but he could still be on the move this summer.

Chelsea have already made significant moves in the ongoing window, and they are now looking to offload some of their players to balance things out. While the English winger has done a decent job for them, he is not an important part of their first team and they are willing to sanction his departure to raise funds. But, they will only let him leave in a situation where they make a decent profit.

Newcastle pushing for Madueke’s services

Newcastle United are keen on signing the Chelsea prospect. The Magpies want to bolster their flanks as Eddie Howe wants more quality on the right wing. They wanted to bring Michael Olise to the club. But after missing out on the new Bayern Munich attacker, they have started to look at other targets.

Newcastle United and their manager Eddie Howe consider Chelsea’s Madueke to be the most realistic option for them at this stage. They have already contacted the Blues to know more details regarding a potential transfer. The Magpies have already assessed the availability of the player but are yet to open formal talks with the London club for his transfer.
