Jayden Bogle will sign a four-year contract with Leeds United if his move from Sheffield United goes to plan, according to TEAMtalk.

The outlet reported on its website on Saturday (20 July) that sources have confirmed that a deal to bring the right-back to Elland Road has been agreed with the blades this summer.

Bogle has made it clear that he wants to join Daniel Farke’s side and reports have suggested the Whites will pay a fee in the region of £5million to secure his signature, with a medical scheduled for Saturday [Graham Smyth, 20 July].

Have Leeds United signed Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window?

The most important thing for Leeds United this summer was securing a new right-back and fans wouldn’t have cared if that was on a season-long loan or a long-term deal.

But ultimately, this will be excellent business for the Whites if they have not only managed to solve their biggest defensive problem this summer but also tie an incredibly promising full-back down to a four-year deal.

Although Sheffield United struggled in the Premier League last season, Bogle was one of the Blades’ better players in an otherwise dreary season.

If Leeds were to win promotion this season, he could step up to the top flight with the Whites.

Hopefully, the final aspects of the transfer will be agreed upon quickly and no later stumbling blocks will emerge to throw the deal into doubt. It may not be Leeds’ most exciting signing of the summer, but it could be their most important.

Once Bogle’s signature is on the contract, Farke and his recruitment team can turn their attention to some more attacking additions ahead of the start of the season as the Whites still look slightly short of goals.
