Wrexham have already secured five signings this summer but Phil Parkinson is still interested in adding more new faces ahead of the League One campaign.
It took a little while for Wrexham to get going in the summer transfer window but Phil Parkinson has been able to add quality and depth in recent weeks.
Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt, George Dobson, Callum Burton and Sebastian Revan have all arrived, handing Wrexham valuable addition across the pitch.
Wrexham showcased some of those new signings in a 1-1 draw with Premier League side Bournemouth in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The League One kick-off is just three weeks away now and the Wrexham squad is really taking shape ahead of the new campaign.
There may still be scope for more additions though, even after agreeing five signing this summer.
Phil Parkinson on Wrexham transfers
Wrexham just about managed to squeeze through deals for Burton and Revan last week, before heading off to the United States for a pre-season tour.
The expectation was that Wrexham’s transfer moves would slow down a little with pre-season games taking full priority.
However, Parkinson has dropped a hint that Wrexham may actually have some more transfer business in the pipeline.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Parkinson noted that this is a great period for himself, Rob McElhenney and Shaun Harvey to review the Wrexham squad.
Parkinson even added that Wrexham are ‘speaking to a few players’ whilst being in America, suggesting that he is hopeful of adding more quality to the side.
“We have got Rob and Shaun Harvey flew in yesterday so it is a great chance to review the squad,” said Parkinson. “Can we add a little bit of quality? We are speaking to a few players while we are out here. Hopefully we will make the right decisions to take us into the season,” he added.
Wrexham have so far signed three free agents in Okonkwo, Dobson and Burton, although the first two signings won’t have come cheap in terms of wages.
Fees have been paid for Brunt and Revan and Parkinson will clearly hope that there is money left in the budget for some new recruits.
Striker surely on the radar
Parkinson is bound to have a number of targets in mind but another striker is bound to be a priority.
Paul Mullin has undergone surgery this summer in an attempt solve issues with his back and hamstrings.
That means Mullin is likely to miss all of pre-season and potentially the opening weeks of the League One campaign.
That would be a huge miss and whilst Sam Dalby has featured in pre-season and Steven Fletcher is staying put, another striker may be needed.
The latest name believed to be in the mix is Tottenham Hotspur striker Will Lankshear.
Reports suggest that Wrexham have made an enquiry into taking Lankshear on loan, but face some competition from Sunderland and Hull City.
Beating Championship sides to Lankshear won’t be easy but Wrexham will hope to land the youngster and add him to Parkinson’s attacking options.
