Greg Taylor has openly acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding his future at the club as his contract negotiations appear to have hit a standstill.

Despite his significant role in helping the team secure last season’s Premiership and Scottish Cup Double, an agreement on a new contract has yet to be reached.

Taylor revealed that there has been no advancement in talks regarding an extension of his contract, which is set to expire next summer.

“No, nothing. We’ll see what happens,” he told RecordSport.

“I honestly don’t know, I think I’ve got 10 months left. It’s football, it’s business. You understand that’s part of it. So I’m sure these things eventually work their selves out.

“Is it on my mind? Not at the forefront, I wouldn’t say so. But of course, you’ve got 10 months left in your contract, you know the situation you’re in. So we’ll just see what happens.”

Manager Brendan Rodgers has previously expressed a desire to secure Taylor on a new long-term deal, indicating the club’s appreciation for his contributions. While Taylor is recognised for his commitment and performance in domestic competitions, there is an acknowledgement that he may not be the strongest link against top-tier European opposition.

The sentiment from the supporters is mixed. Many appreciate Taylor’s dedication and would like to see him continue at Celtic, ideally in a role that complements a first-choice left-back, while some believe his time is up.
