Nottingham Forest want £40m+ for star man Morgan Gibbs-White before the 31 August cut-off, sources have told Football Insider.

Forest are reluctant to let the 24-year-old attacking midfielder leave the club amid interest from fellow Premier League clubs Fulham and Tottenham.

Gibbs-White was integral as Forest narrowly avoided relegation last season, scoring five goals and getting 10 assists in the Premier League.

Nuno Espirito Santo and his staff will look to build their team around Gibbs-White following the signings of midfielder Elliot Anderson and centre-back Nikola Milenković.

Forest don’t plan on stopping there, Football Insider revealed (July 15) that the club are working on more signings as they hope to improve on a dismal campaign.

Nottingham Forest want to build around Morgan Gibbs-White

Gibbs-White made the switch from Wolves to Nottingham Forest, signing a five-year deal, for a reported club-record transfer fee of £25 million with another potential £17 million in add-ons in 2022.

The 24-year-old has gone on to make 80 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals and getting 18 assists in the process.

Last season, the attacking midfielder scored six goals and picked up ten assists in 42 games, and is now attracting interest from London clubs Fulham and Spurs.

Forest will be hoping they can keep Gibbs-White at the club as they look to improve on a season in which they only won nine games.

The club are no longer under as much pressure with PSR following the sales of Odysseas Vlachodimos to Newcastle United and Moussa Niakhate to Lyon.
