Ryan Yates, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, is rumored to have signed a new deal.
The 2022 contract that the Nigel Doughty Academy graduate signed was set to expire the following summer. However, The Athletic claims that he has now agreed to terms that last until June 2028.
Yates has played for the Reds for almost 200 games and scored 18 goals. He was a crucial member of the team that won promotion in 2022 and has remained so ever since moving up to the Premier League.
Last season, he made 40 appearances across all competitions as a third consecutive top-flight campaign was achieved. And in a 3-1 victory over Sheffield United in May, he eventually scored his first Premier League goal after going close multiple times.
“I must say that I am thrilled for him. Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach, remarked of Yates later, “We know what he means and what he feels. He has made 201 appearances for the club.”
“I’m content, but what matters more to me is the effort he made to win all those duels in the middle of the park. Yates offers us these things during the scrappy part of the game. We rely on Yates for this, but I’m satisfied with the outcome.
Vice-captain Yates was chosen by former manager Steve Cooper. Last season, the 26-year-old took the captaincy on a regular basis, starting the squad when Joe Worrall was out and later loaned to Besiktas.
The defender Willy Boly inked a new contract earlier this summer. Additionally, his contract is set to expire in 2025, with a one-year extension option held by the club. The contracts of Chris Wood, Harry Toffolo, Ola Aina, Alex Mighten, Jonathan Panzo, and Chris Wood all have a year remaining on them.
