According to Sacha Tavolieri, West Brom is in negotiations to sign Isaac Price, a midfielder for Standard Liege.
After making three additions thus far, West Brom is looking to add additional players.

Torbjorn Heggem provides a fresh alternative at the center of defense right in front of Joe Wildsmith, who has emerged as another option in goal. In addition, Ousmane Diakite has brought another player into Carlos Corberan’s midfield.

However, as the 2024–2025 season approaches, the Baggies will be acutely aware that more additions are required.

At The Hawthorns, a new name has recently come to light.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports on X that West Brom has started negotiations with Standard Liege of the Jupiler Pro League over a possible trade for Isaac Price, a midfielder from Northern Ireland. A permanent deal might be reached for €2 million, and Standard is already thinking about replacing them.

A five-year contract is being discussed in terms of personal terms, but Preston North End, a Championship rival, is also interested.

Price is under contract with Standard Liege until 2027 having signed on a free transfer from Everton last year.

Making an impression overseas
In recent years, an increasing number of British possibilities have seized the opportunity to prove themselves elsewhere. Price followed suit after graduating from Premier League academies, as many others have done.

After a lengthy junior career and three senior games, he left Everton, but his move to Belgium has given him his first opportunity at regular first-team minutes. Price made an impression last season as a midfielder with 39 games played, two goals, and two assists.

The 20-year-old may have earned himself another chance on these shores after making an impression elsewhere.

Standard’s financial status has been precarious, and Price’s sale would be advantageous. Although Preston North End is also interested, it’s possible that West Brom will gain from the scenario; it will be interesting to watch how things work out.

midfielders desired
The midfield is an area of emphasis for the Baggies as they want to improve their ranks ahead of the next season.

The future of Okay Yokuslu, a target for Hull City, is uncertain, and his departure would leave Corberan short on the ground. Diakite, the new signing for West Brom, is a possibility, but it might only be a long-term one as the team looks to maximize his potential.

Alex Mowatt, John Swift, and Jayson Molumby are located beyond him. Therefore, it would not hurt to sign Price—or any other midfielder, for that matter—before the transfer window closes.
