Everton have completed the signing of former Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Veatriki Sarri on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blue Girls this afternoon.

Sarri joins Everton after leaving former club Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of last season. The 26-year-old Greek international midfielder spent two years with the Sussex club in which she made 41 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Super League and scored three goals. Sarri has also played for Sheffield United and Birmingham City in her time in the English game.

After completing her move to Everton, Sarri said “It’s a pleasure to be an Everton player. My first impressions are unbelievable. I’ve met all the girls, the staff and everyone associated with the Club, and I’m really excited to get going.

“I really like Brian’s [Sørensen] philosophy, I like the style of play. Whenever I’ve played against Everton, it’s always been a tough task. To be part of it now is a great honour.”

Sarri is Everton’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window. The Merseyside club have also added Toni Payne, Inês Pereira, Honoka Hayashi and Melissa Lawley to their squad in the close season.
