Connor Goldson has been spotted at Glasgow Airport ahead of a potential summer move away from Rangers.

The Daily Record [26 July] shared the image of Goldson at the airport with several suitcases, prompting many fans to believe his Ibrox exit is closer than ever.

The 31-year-old defender is set to jet back to Aris Limassol for a medical, according to Sky Sports, as work continues to complete his Ibrox exit.

The Cypriot club are working hard to strike a deal with the Gers this summer, with the player now appearing to be travelling back in order to complete the move.

Philippe Clement is in the middle of a total rebuild at Ibrox, and despite being a regular figure in the side last season, Goldson looks to be a sacrifice this summer.

The centre-back has made 309 appearances for the Gers since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2018, becoming a much-loved figure at Ibrox.

His performances towards the end of the campaign, however, were not up to Clement’s standards with the defender being dropped before sustaining a season-ending injury.

While the Gers are set to lose quite a big name from the dressing room, Goldson’s £37,000-a-week wage will certainly free up some funds to bring in more signings this summer.

Clement and Nils Koppen have already added Hamza Igamane, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron, Clinton Nsiala, Oscar Cortes and Jefte to the squad, with more signings expected.

With Leon Balogun putting pen to paper on a new one-year deal at Ibrox, the Gers will still have a confident, experienced voice in the dressing room as the manager continues his rebuild.

The Gers could yet still see more funds become available after Clement confirmed that Todd Cantwell was keen on a move away from Scotland this summer, with plenty of transfer interest surrounding him.
