As Scotland international Greg Taylor approaches his final year on a Celtic contract, Brendan Rodgers has revealed that the club has extended its offer to Taylor. The 26-year-old’s contract expires in2025, but he has been a vital part of the title victories over the previous three seasons.

Prior to the match against Chelsea on Saturday, Rodgers stated that he had discussed the player’s significance to the team with the player’s agents.
“I believe there may have been contact in the latter part of the previous season.

“I also had a meeting with Greg’s agent to discuss the significance of my perspective as well as to be transparent and truthful about where things stand.”

We obviously want to hang onto him. He’s a key player for us, so I’m hoping we can work something out.

Hugo Bueno, a defender for Wolves, has been linked to Celtic on a season-long loan; nevertheless, Rodgers wants the two to compete for the starting spot at the team as they try to compete on all fronts.

Despite having trouble being selected first in his first two seasons, Taylor has improved under Brendan and Ange Postecoglou to become an important member of the first squad.

Since joining Celtic in 2019, Taylor has made 173 appearances for the team after leaving Killie. The defender, who was born in Greenock, has contributed 25 assists and eight goals throughout that period. In that time, Celtic’s No. 3 has taken home eight trophies, and this next season, they hope to add more to their collection.
