Burnley have completed the double signing of former Blackburn Rovers pair Helen Seed and Emma Doyle.
The Clarettes announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.
Both players join Burnley on free transfers after leaving former club Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season.
Centre-back Seed has spent the last three seasons with Blackburn Rovers. She has made 48 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship. The player has been a rock at the heart of the Blackburn Rovers defence.
Midfielder Doyle joined Blackburn Rovers from Barclays Women’s Super League club Everton in summer 2020. She has gone on to make 41 appearances for the Lancashire club in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
Both players helped Blackburn Rovers to record their highest-ever finish in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season. Simon Parker’s side ended the campaign in sixth place with a record points tally of 36.
The additions of Seed and Doyle come just 24 hours after Burnley added former Birmingham City forward Claudia Walker to their ranks. The Clarettes will be hoping to finally win promotion to the Barclays Women’s Championship this season after going close in recent campaigns. Head coach Rebecca Sawiuk is being well-supported by the club in the transfer market.
