Even though Burnley have already made six signings this season, there is still scope for them to make more additions before the end of August.

Much of the current squad that Scott Parker has to work with is the one that came down from the Premier League. That group, which arguably wasn’t similar enough to the one that got them promoted in the first place, did woefully underachieve compared to expectations but there is still some good talent at Turf Moor.

Nonetheless, they’ve felt that it’s necessary to bulk out the playing staff even more, with the most recent addition being former Ipswich Town number one Vaclav Hladky.

What he and his Tractor Boy teammates achieved last season is what the Clarets are going for this time around. Burnley won’t want to be caught short again if they do go up, and a bit more Premier League experience/talent could help them now and in the future.
