As Rangers completed the agreement to sign Vaclav Cerny on loan this summer, Philippe Clement couldn’t stop gushing about him.
The VfL Wolfsburg winger will move to Ibrox until the end of the season, the club stated in the afternoon of July 26.
The 26-year-old was drawn in by the Belgian because of his Ibrox experience.
“Very pleased he is someone with a lot of quality and high value, he’s shown that at international level, in Holland and the Bundesliga,” he stated, as quoted by Joshua Barrie. As previously mentioned, we wouldn’t invite just young players. We have to start over and bring in both young players for the future and seasoned players who are aware of what to do on the field in every circumstance.
Vaclav Cerny is a great acquisition to the Rangers this summer. Cerny gives Ibrox a plethora of knowledge and expertise, which makes him an invaluable member of the group.
As a seasoned international player with 17 caps for the Czech Republic, including appearances in the Euro 2024, the 25-year-old has proven his ability to perform at a high level on the international stage.
His experience in the Eredivisie and Bundesliga further enhances his credentials.
At Twente, Cerny showcased his attacking prowess, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 32 appearances during the 2022/23 season.
His capacity to make a substantial contribution to the team’s offensive endeavors is demonstrated by this performance.
Rangers have tactical flexibility thanks to Cerny’s versatility, as he can play mostly on the right wing or in the central attacking midfield role.
He is a formidable threat in the last third due to his technical abilities, which include his capacity to cut inside and shoot with his left foot.
