Fenerbahce is reportedly stepping up its pursuit of Burnley midfielder Sander Berge, according to a report in the Turkish media.
The Super Lig team and the Norway international have been linked in recent weeks due to rumors that they were going to have transfer talks with the player and club.
According to TR Haber’s report on the most recent events surrounding Berge’s future at Burnley, the player has received an official offer. In order to bolster his midfield in preparation for the upcoming campaign, Jose Mourinho is reportedly eager to add the Norwegian.
According to rumors, Berge’s agency and Fenerbahce sporting director Mario Branco have spoken, and they plan to close a deal shortly.
We reported earlier this week on Turkish allegations that Branco will go to England to negotiate a trade for Berge. The former Sheffield United player was reportedly included in Fenerbahce’s five-man list of center midfield targets.
Berge made 40 appearances and scored 3 goals for Burnley in the previous campaign. His deal with the Turf Moor team expires in June 2027.
