Brighton is apparently prepared to make a bid in an attempt to push Manchester United for the signature of a defender who made an impression at Euro 2024.

Fabian Hurzeler, who replaced Roberto de Zerbi at the AMEX Stadium after leading St. Pauli to promotion to the Bundesliga, is ushering in a new era at the stadium.

It will be expected of the 31-year-old, who has taken on the role of youngest Premier League manager, to uphold the Seagulls’ growing reputation for producing young players and engaging in attractive football.

Following Newcastle United’s excellent acquisition of Yankuba Minteh, Brighton is now considering a €30 million bid for Turkey’s Ferdi Kadioglu, a full-back for Fenerbahce.

The 24-year-old made an impression with a number of strong performances as he guided his nation to the quarterfinals of Euro 2024.

Hurzeler has expressed his desire to adopt his own winning mentality while also expressing his admiration for Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma throughout the preseason.

“He is a player who, with one move, can decide an equal game—dribbling or shooting,” Hurzeler remarked. He therefore occupies a significant place in my mind.

“Hopefully, he will have a special week this week. We’ll do our best to provide for all of his requirements, particularly this week.

“Everyone on the team is here to play for him and help him remember this week fondly.”

The German manager added, “The club has already created its values,” while discussing his aim to establish a “winning culture” at Amex Stadium. We’ll make an effort to uphold these principles.

Furthermore, I wish to cultivate a winning culture. Since success requires a significant investment of time and effort, we want to upend the status quo and introduce more standards into our training.

“I want to create this winning culture.”

A new fullback may be needed for Manchester United given the persistent concerns about Luke Shaw’s fitness.

Brighton will challenge Manchester United for Kadioglu.
While on a preseason tour in the USA, manager Erik ten Hag has talked about bolstering his team. Joshua Zirkzee, a striker for Bologna, and Leny Yoro, a defender from Lille, have already signed with United.

Ten Hag declared, “I want the squad to be as strong as possible.”

“We already made two very good buys, so when everyone is fit we have a team that can beat everyone. But also in squad depth, we have to catch-up. We know that because [when] we had injuries, we are vulnerable, and we have to avoid this.

“First, by getting less injuries and picking up less injuries. And second, our squad has to be that good in depth.

“Of course, the quality we have, but in the depth we have to catch up. And even more, because this will be a season that is survival of the fittest.

“We proved we can beat the best team. Not just once, we did it twice. But also the other games were also very close.

“Our challenge is to do it consistently, that’s what we have to work for.”
