Leeds United “want to keep” their finest players during the summer transfer window, according to Daniel Farke.

Archie Gray left Leeds this summer after signing a £40 million contract to join Tottenham.

Farke’s update comes after rumours have failed to die down over the future of some of the Whites’ star players such as Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville.

As quoted by LeedsLive on 28 July, Farke said the following of Leeds’ future transfer plans: “I don’t want to be involved too much in any negotiations or any offers. Our stance is clear: we want to keep our best players and want to have them for us.

“I would be worried if no club would be interested in our players because then we would have a problem, it would mean we don’t attract any interest. It’s actually a good sign, yes, makes life sometimes a bit difficult because we still have to pay for some sins in the past and we have to stick to the financial fair play rules.”

Leeds United could end up keeping their star players this summer

At the start of the 2024/25 summer transfer window, many people expected Leeds to have a massive overhaul of their players due to the failure to gain promotion.

In some ways, this is true with the likes of Marc Roca and Diego Llorente among those loaned out last term to have found permanent moves away from West Yorkshire.

However, despite the loss of players such as the aforementioned two will have no doubt hurt the club, most fans would likely be happy to see the back of them.

However, despite these exits, many thought that the likes of Summerville and Gnonto would be among the first to leave this summer.

Admittedly, the start of the transfer window was a bit ropey for the West Yorkshire outfit as they needed a big sale in order to abide by the EFL’s PSR regulations.

However, Gray’s exit solved this issue and put the Whites in a much stronger negotiating position that could even mean that they don’t lose any of their star men.
