A Premier League team is reportedly preparing a new attempt to deliver Leeds United an additional blow this summer, amid rumors that Wilfried Gnonto may still be on his way out.

News about transfers from Leeds
The Whites have already suffered more than once this summer as a result of their inability to advance, as they lost Glen Kamara and Archie Gray to Stade Rennais and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively. Those at Elland Road have their work cut out for them with only a few weeks till the new Championship campaign begins, but there is still a chance that more players will leave.

After selling Amadou Onana, Everton may now focus on acquiring Gnonto. Rumor has it that the Toffees may still use their Onana money to spend out on the Leeds winger, whose future in Yorkshire has been called into question for some time. Daniel Farke’s assault would surely suffer if Gnonto were to go, but losing a different striker could ruin their chances of winning the championship before the season had started.

After apparently failing with a £30 million transfer earlier this summer, Brighton & Hove Albion are now getting ready to make another attempt to sign Georginio Rutter from Leeds, according to Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke. After moving from Hoffenheim, the forward became the Whites’ record signing in 2022. After this worrying new development, he may potentially choose a different path to return to the Premier League two years later.

Rutter’s breakthrough season in the Championship proved unable to propel Farke’s team to promotion as they were devastated by Southampton at Wembley. Despite his impressive performance that piqued Brighton’s interest, it appears the Seagulls want to give the 22-year-old a fair second opportunity in the Premier League.

For Leeds to win the title, “Brilliant” Rutter is essential.
Leeds will be vying for the Championship championship and an automatic spot in the Premier League this season because they don’t want to leave any room for uncertainty after losing out on promotion the previous season. Rutter is still essential to achieving it. Under Farke, the Frenchman was at his best playing as a playmaker. He finished behind Joel Piroe with an amazing 16 assists across all competitions in addition to six goals of his own.

Farke’s recognition of the 22-year-old in the previous campaign as one of the top creators in the second tier was expected. Following a 3-0 victory over Birmingham City, the Leeds manager stated via BBC Sport: “It was an incredible performance, almost flawlessly fulfilling his role.” We have been playing him deeper and in a more adaptable role in recent weeks. He frequently began in an upfront role, but we have moved him a little bit deeper.”

It remains to be seen, though, whether Farke will get to see such “brilliant” performances from Rutter this season.
