Diego Gómez of Inter Miami is just a step away from signing with Brighton & Hove Albion this summer, according to AS a week ago.

The 21-year-old’s public support for joining the Seagulls has come from Inter Miami manager Gerardo Martino, who said that the team is the “right place” for him.

Gustavo Rodríguez, a journalist from Paraguay, announced on X, the platform that was then known as Twitter, that Gómez would be joining Brighton for $14 million [£10.9 million].

Versus has received additional details regarding this matter from Rodriguez, who claims Brighton has achieved a “full agreement” to secure the midfielder’s services.
The Paraguay international’s “signing will take place” at Brighton “this Monday,” according to the journalist. Gómez’s previous team, Club Libertad, will earn 50% of the profit from his move to The Amex, with the Premier League team offering $14 million to Inter Miami.

In a different post on X, Rodríguez notes that Inter Miami and Fabian Hürzeler’s team have an agreement in place for the player’s move; Gómez just needs to sign the paperwork and complete the transfer procedures.

Gómez played in 28 appearances with Inter Miami after joining in July 2023, tallying five goals and four assists.
