Leeds United gem Harry Gray has shared a new injury update suggesting he will be out of action until the new year in a now-deleted Instagram post.

The 15-year-old who has been involved with Daniel Farke’s first team in pre-season has revealed that he picked up an injury whilst away in Germany for the Whites’ pre-season tour this summer.

The nature of the injury isn’t yet known but Gray, who is yet to make a competitive first-team appearance for Leeds, has suggested it will keep him out of action until the new year.

Writing on the deleted Instagram post on Monday (29 July) Gray said: “Great xp in Germany. Gutted to pick up an injury will be back stronger in 2025.”

Will Harry Gray play in the Leeds United first team this season?

While Gray wasn’t expected to play a regular role in the Leeds United first team, it will be disappointing for supporters to hear that one of their brightest academy talents has been sidelined for such a long stretch of time.

Farke is clearly a fan of the young forward, otherwise, he wouldn’t have involved him so heavily in the first team’s pre-season schedule, so he will obviously be gutted to not be able to hand him a more senior role this term.

Luckily, Gray is so young that he now has plenty of time to brush off this setback and work his way back to full fitness. As long as he makes a full recovery, it won’t be too long until fans see him in and around Farke’s squad again.

Until then, the Leeds boss will have to make do with the players at his disposal. Luckily for him, he has a range of attacking options at his disposal including Georginio Rutter, Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford.

That should be more than enough firepower for the time being as the Whites look to make a return to the Premier League.
