Given that he is only 23 years old, Arvin Appiah has had an exceptionally diverse career. From being a prospect at Nottingham Forest and being connected to a transfer to Manchester United, he has experienced a decline in play and numerous loan requests.
It doesn’t appear to be improving. Following his time in the Forest academy, Appiah spent a season with the main squad before being traded to Almeria. Loan periods at Lugo, Tenerife, and Malaga came next.
He spent the previous season on loan at Rotherham United, and according to Diario de Almeria, the former England youth international is about to make a fresh move.
On loan from Almeria, he will play for CD Nacional, a Madeira-based team in the Portuguese second level. This will be his eighth loan period overall.
He has only managed one goal in his last four loan periods. That accurately captures the decline of his career.
The Almeria State Diary Almeria was happy to have won the battle because Nottingham Forest was trying to keep the player and Manchester United had attempted to buy him in 2019.
Nobody has benefited from that decision.
