Even the most upbeat of fans would have been surprised by how active Everton has been in the first few days of the summer transfer season.
This summer, Sean Dyche has added players to his roster, with Lyon defender Jake O’Brien becoming the most recent to join Merseyside in time for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Furthermore, despite a lot of conjecture, the Blues have managed to hold onto their best players, such Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jarrad Branthwaite, at Goodison, with the exception of the departure of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa.
But as they unveiled their new away uniform this summer before of their preseason matchup with Coventry City, the Toffees might have given away something about the future of the striker who is rumored to be leaving.
The Blues posted a video on X on Tuesday, July 30, featuring a number of first-team players from the men’s and women’s first teams modeling the new black and yellow changing strip.
Beto, James Garner, and Dwight McNeil were among the members of Dyche’s team who wore the new shirt, but Calvert-Lewin was absent from all of the advertising materials.

Calvert-Lewin has been a mainstay of the Blues’ promotion for the past two seasons, despite the fact that some will argue this signifies very little because some players were absent from the uniform introduction film.
He was featured in the Blues home shirt announcement [Liverpool Echo, June 29, 2023] and the red and blue away kit reveal [Liverpool Echo, July 21, 2023] with McNeil last term.
Calvert-Lewin may be heading out the door if this is combined with Joe Thomas’ [29 July] admission that the Blues would find it tough to turn down a £20 million offer for the England international this summer due to PSR and financial considerations.
The 27-year-old won’t likely be an Everton player by the beginning of the season if he doesn’t sign a new contract at Goodison, even though nothing seems imminent at this point in the transfer market.
