Premier League teams are reportedly vying for Boulaye Dia, a striker for Salernitana, but Everton is still interested in him.
With the addition of Iliman Ndiaye, Jake O’Brien, Tim Iroegbunam, Jesper Lindstrom (loan), and Jack Harrison (loan), the Toffees have gotten off to a quick start during the transfer window.
They have also sold Amadou Onana, Lewis Dobbin, and Ben Godfrey for a total of about £70 million, but their work is far from over.
Priorities for Sean Dyche include adding a new midfielder and winger, but if Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Neal Maupay departs, Everton may also sign a new striker.
There are just 12 months left on Calvert-Lewin’s contract, and a number of Premier League teams are taking bids for the England international.
The Toffees have reportedly rekindled their interest in Dia and are searching the market for possible replacements. These rumors come from Italy.
The Senegalese international was originally connected to Everton in January 2022, and Kevin Thelwell, the sporting director, is reportedly a huge fan of his.
After one season on loan with Salernitana, Dia became a regular member of the Italian club last summer.
Salernitana finished last in Serie A, therefore his 51 appearances and 20 goals are excellent considering their level of play that season.
Boulaye Dia has four Prem clubs interested in it.
After West Ham’s £7.5 million bid for Dia was reportedly turned down last week, they apparently focused on Niclas Fullkrug, a striker for Borussia Dortmund.
According to rumors, Dia is being watched by both Newcastle and Brentford, and a move from Salernitana is “inevitable” for the 27-year-old.
Igor Thiago, a new striker the Bees hired, could be sidelined for months due to a meniscus problem, which would be a serious blow to Thomas Frank.
Ivan Toney is still a high target for a number of teams, so Brentford will obviously need to find a replacement if he left.
Conversely, it’s possible that Newcastle will split ways with Callum Wilson this summer, and sources indicate that Dia might be a viable substitute.
Dia’s move to the Premier League is “increasingly likely,” and it will be intriguing to watch if any further bids are made for the Salernitana star.
In light of speculation that Roma forward Tammy Abraham may leave the Italian capital this summer, Everton is also keeping a watch on him.
Everton is pursuing the transfer of Habib Diarra.
Everton is reportedly “on the verge” of signing Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra, another Senegalese international, according to French publication Foot Mercato.
He might be brought in to replace Onana at Goodison Park alongside other Senegalese talents Idrissa Gana Gueye and Ndiaye.
The 20-year-old Diarra is regarded as one of Ligue 1’s most promising midfielders, and the Toffees have been closely monitoring his progress this summer.
In 35 appearances for Strasbourg last season, he made two assists and four goals. He can play as a number eight or as a number ten.
Although the story does not specify how much Everton will spend to capture Diarra, it is speculated that his value is around £25 million.
