Leeds United are in advanced talks with West Ham United to sell Crysencio Summerville, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The report (31 July) indicates that West Ham are hopeful they can strike a deal as they consider Summerville a primary target. In terms of the specifics, personal terms are not expected to be an issue.

This comes on the heels of suggestions that the Hammers could turn their attention elsewhere in the transfer window (Fabrizio Romano, 29 July).

Leeds United await big offer

In the wake of Archie Gray’s departure from Leeds, the club has been able to be a bit pickier when it comes to Summerville. There was always bound to be interest in him following a strong Championship campaign in 2023/24, and after the fee they received for Gray, they’ve understandably held out on a big offer for the 22-year-old Dutchman.

He scored 19 goals to go alongside nine assists (FBref) and although a lot of Leeds supporters will be desperate to see him stay at Elland Road, they’ll also understand the financial reward that comes with selling a player of his stature.

If West Ham are feeling confident about their chances of bringing him to London Stadium, they must be coming forward with a serious offer. Plus, with the figures that new boss Julen Lopetegui has been throwing around already this summer, it should come as no surprise if they go hard in the paint here.
