Regarding rumors of a transfer out and his future with the Rangers, James Tavernier has spoken out.
The Ibrox captain declared he is “fully committed” to Rangers despite rumors that he could leave for Trabzonspor in the summer.
Tavernier was linked to Saudi Arabia even during the previous season, but the defender has stated he is not considering a trade away from Glasgow.
He responded, “I just don’t take any notice, basically,” when asked about his future in light of the Rangers TV transfer rumors. “It has been rumored for a while now—possibly a year and a half.
“I addressed it at the end of the last season, and I’m totally focused on the task at hand.
“I will always approach things with that mindset: totally devoted, approaching each day with all of my might to push the team and myself forward.
“It’s like I’m eighteen again, doing what I do every day as a professional football player.
“Every single day there is joy for me to come in to train, I am living the dream.”
Due to a hip injury, the Rangers captain missed a number of preseason games this summer.
He did, however, explain why he missed some games while training with the team in the Netherlands, saying he is “ready to go” ahead of the league opener against Hearts.
He said: “It is obviously unusual for me to miss but with it being pre-season it was a perfect time to rest my hip flexor.
It was the ideal moment to not just push through it and let it settle down because I had some fluid in there.
It was difficult to watch the guys train while sitting on the sidelines, but now that my body feels much better, it’s important for me to play two games before the season begins.
“Me, personally, I am ready to go.”
