Spain international Inma Gabarro has become Everton Women’s sixth summer signing following the expiry of her contract from her childhood club, Sevilla.
Brian Sorensen has also secured the futures of both Holmgaard twins, who this week committed their futures to the Blue half of Merseyside.
Gabarro follows her former Sevilla teammate, forward Toni Payne, as well as goalkeeper Ines Pereira – currently on loan with Deportivo de La Coruna – midfielders Honoka Hayashi and Veatriki Sarri, as well as forward Melissa Lawley into Everton, in what is proving a major overhaul for Sorensen’s team.
With the Blues being one of the WSL’s lowest scorers last season, the 21-year-old’s arrival will offer even more competition to the attack.
Capable of playing across the forward line as well as in midfield, Gabarro has already made her mark on the international stage, helping Spain win the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica in 2022, and finishing the tournament as the Golden Boot winner.
The senior squad soon came calling, with the forward earning her first cap from the bench to net against Argentina in November 2022.
Gabarro will be lining up with both Holmgaard twins next season, with both Sara and Karen putting pen-to-paper on new deals.
A defender also capable of bringing an attacking threat to Everton, Sara featured in 12 league games in 2023/24, scoring twice and registering three assists, two of those for sister, and fellow Danish international teammate, Karen, in away matches at West Ham United in December 2023 and Brighton & Hove Albion in April 2024.
And her twin sister was quick to follow Sara’s lead as she also committed her future to Everton.
Karen joined with Sara in August 2022 and has played an integral role for the Blues, despite suffering two setbacks with injury in the 2023/24 season.
Performing both in midfield and as a centre-half, the 25-year-old’s defensive capabilities has been vital for the Toffees, not to mention her almost telepathic link with her sister on the field
